Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has been adjudged to be the world’s best in the category of handling 25 to 40 million passengers per annum. This got us thinking of what makes the Airport special to us Delhiites. The capital is synonymous with art and culture, displaying grandeur and history in its beautiful monuments, modernity in urbane architecture, and culture and heritage in the bylanes of Chandni Chowk. The city carries in its art and architecture the history and remnants of seven cities. The art displayed at the New Delhi Airport reflects the various facets of this city. So here is a look at all the installations, sculptures and paintings you might have seen at the airport but not noticed that make our visit to the Airport an aesthetically pleasing one.
